Event bookings

Booking, changing and cancelling tickets – signed in or as a guest

Kurz gesagt:

You register for an event either inside Zeitwart under “Book events” or as a guest through the address of the event. Both routes lead, via a confirmation of your e-mail address, to a QR code that serves as your ticket. Changing and cancelling run through the reservation confirmation.

Menu path: Tickets → Book events · as a guest: the address of the event

Unlike a booking, which occupies a resource, an event manages an audience. You are not signing up for a room but for a concert, a conference or a seminar.

There are two ways in: signed in to Zeitwart, or as a guest through the event's address. Both are covered here.

A note on wording: whether it says tickets, seats or registrations is set by the event itself. This page says "ticket" throughout; yours may say something else.

As a signed-in user

Tickets → Book events lists everything you can sign up for. Each card shows the available tickets and your own status – whether you are already registered, whether registration only opens on a given date, or whether Registration closed applies.

Clicking opens the event. Book tickets lets you choose the quantity and submit the request; Zeitwart confirms with "Your booking request has been submitted successfully."

Some events ask for additional details along the way – dietary requirements, company, how you are travelling. Which ones is up to the organisers.

Finding your tickets later

Your registrations are listed under Events → Tickets. For each event you will find:

What

For what

Show ticket

displays the QR code scanned at the door

Cancel participation

signs you off; the ticket becomes invalid

Status

Email confirmed · Email not confirmed · Ticket validated · Ticket canceled

Not every event uses QR codes. Where none exists, it says "There is no QR code for this event."

As a guest

All you need is the address of the event and a working e-mail address – a Zeitwart account is not required.

The registration form

Enter your first and last name and accept the privacy policy. The quantity selector orders several tickets at once; one is preselected and the organisers set the maximum.

The quantity selector

Order tickets submits the request. Two e-mails follow.

The first asks you to confirm your address:

The first e-mail

Important: without this confirmation the registration does not count. If it does not arrive within 48 hours, the request is deleted automatically and the tickets are released again. Zeitwart sends one reminder before that.

After confirming, the second e-mail arrives with the QR code that serves as your ticket. It is attached to the mail as a file as well, and depending on the event a calendar entry comes with it.

The reservation confirmation with QR code

This second mail is the important one: you use it to change and cancel later.

Changing tickets

Open the reservation confirmation – not the first mail – and click Edit ticket.

The link in the confirmation

For security, Zeitwart asks for the e-mail address the tickets were ordered with:

The e-mail address prompt

You can then change first name, last name and quantity and save.

The edit form

The QR code does not change. A ticket you have already printed or saved stays valid.

Cancelling tickets

The route is the same as for changing: open the reservation confirmation, click Edit ticket, enter the e-mail address – then Cancel tickets. A cancellation confirmation follows.

The cancellation confirmation

A cancellation always covers all tickets of one reservation. To hand back only part of them, change the quantity instead.

Language

Public event pages carry a language switcher at the top. Zeitwart remembers the language you pick for your registration – the e-mails come in that language too. Signed-in users do not need it; for them the language from their own profile applies.
