Global Search
Find rooms, users, events, displays and home tiles directly via the global search
The global search takes you quickly to the most important areas in Zeitwart. After just a few characters, matching results from various categories are shown, which you can open directly.
Purpose
The global search gives you quick access to rooms, users, events, displays and home tiles.
Instead of first opening the relevant area, you can search directly for the term you want and open the result straight away.
Opening the search
You can open the global search in several ways:
via the search icon in the navigation,
via the search bar on the home screen,
with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + K (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + K (macOS).
The search starts automatically as soon as you have entered at least two characters.
Note: The global search is not available in display views.
What can you search for?
The results are grouped by category.
Home tiles
Search by:
Name of the home tile
Description
A click opens the relevant home tile or the associated folder.
Rooms
Search by:
Room name
Room description
A click opens the room calendar of the selected room.
Events
Search by:
Event name
Event location
Only upcoming events are shown.
A click opens the event details.
Users
Search by:
First name
Last name
The results list also shows the email address.
Depending on your permissions, you can then, for example, open the user calendar or further information about the user.
Displays
If you have access to display management, you can also search for displays.
A click opens the detail view of the relevant display.
Search results
The results are clearly grouped by category.
Up to ten results are shown per category.
Depending on the result, additional information is displayed, for example:
Description
Email address
Event location
Date and time
Assigned organisational unit
Keyboard operation
The global search can be operated entirely from the keyboard.
Key | Function |
|---|---|
↑ / ↓ | Move between results |
Enter | Open the selected result |
Esc | Close the search |
If no result is selected, Enter automatically opens the first entry in the results list.
No results found
If no matching results are found after you enter at least two characters, the following message appears:
“No results found.”
Permissions
The global search only shows content that you have access to.
Depending on your permissions, different categories may therefore be shown. Areas you do not have access to do not appear in the search.
Tips
Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + K or Cmd + K to open the search quickly at any time.
Just a few letters are usually enough to find the room, user or event you are looking for.
The global search is particularly well suited as quick navigation between the different areas of Zeitwart.
