Flexible user login

Sign in with the accounts that already exist – local, Microsoft, Shibboleth or WinBIAP.

One sign-in for every system

Nobody wants to remember several passwords or maintain separate accounts. Zeitwart therefore supports modern single sign-on, so your people simply sign in with the company account they already have.

Authentication runs through your existing identity provider. Username and password stay entirely inside your own IT – Zeitwart only takes the sign-in and the resulting permissions. That means more security, less administration and a considerably more pleasant experience.

Fits into Microsoft 365

Many organisations already work with Microsoft 365 and Outlook every day, and Zeitwart slots into that environment. Rooms can still be booked directly from Outlook; the bookings synchronise with Zeitwart automatically and immediately gain the extended functions:

  • book rooms directly in Outlook

  • automatic synchronisation with Zeitwart

  • display on room displays

  • individual booking rules

  • approval processes

  • check-in and no-show handling

  • statistics and reporting

Existing routines stay as they are while the range of functions grows considerably.

Several identity providers, side by side

Every organisation uses different systems for managing accounts, so Zeitwart supports several authentication methods:

  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

  • Shibboleth (SAML2)

  • OAuth2

  • local accounts

  • library systems such as WinBIAP

Several identity providers can run in parallel, and several of the same type as well. Each appears on the sign-in page as a button of its own. That is particularly useful for organisations with several sites or clearly different groups of users – staff signing in through Entra ID while external guests use local accounts.

Less work for administrators

Central account management removes the duplicate maintenance of user records. New staff or students simply sign in with the account they already have; changes to users, passwords or groups continue to happen solely in your directory service.

On top of that Zeitwart supports automatic user registration, self-service registration, an Excel import of users and automatic role assignment through workflows. Account management therefore stays manageable even in large organisations.

Higher security through central authentication

With single sign-on, passwords stay where they belong – in your central identity system. Zeitwart stores no user passwords for an SSO connection and hands authentication to the connected identity provider.

That brings central password management, uniform security policies, multi-factor authentication through the identity provider, fewer forgotten passwords and noticeably less support effort.

Benefits at a glance

  • single sign-on with the accounts your organisation already has

  • support for Microsoft Entra ID, Shibboleth, OAuth2, WinBIAP and local accounts

  • several identity providers in parallel, each with its own sign-in button

  • passwords stay in your own system, multi-factor authentication included

  • automatic user registration, Excel import and role assignment through workflows

  • mixed setups for staff, external users and guests are no problem
