Microsoft integration
Bookings land in the Microsoft 365 room mailbox – Teams link included.
For most people Outlook is where appointments happen. A room booking that does not appear there gets overlooked. The Microsoft integration closes that gap: Zeitwart writes bookings as calendar entries into the room mailboxes of Microsoft 365 – where everyone is already looking.
What gets synchronised
When a room is booked in Zeitwart, the matching calendar entry appears in its room mailbox. Changes and cancellations follow. Anyone opening the room calendar in Outlook therefore sees the same state as in Zeitwart, without anybody maintaining two systems.
Teams links without an extra step
On request, Zeitwart creates a Teams link while booking and sends it with the invitation. Hybrid meetings – some in the room, some dialling in – come about in one pass instead of two.
Titles that survive
By default Exchange replaces the subject of a room appointment with the organiser's name. The room calendar then shows nothing but people's names, which makes it practically worthless. The Set-CalendarProcessing setting switches that off, so the real title of the booking is kept.
What you need for it
An app registration in Azure is required. The values it produces go into the settings of the organisational unit – synchronisation is therefore configured per unit rather than forced globally. The permissions of the registration can be restricted to particular mailboxes, so Zeitwart only reaches the room mailboxes it actually concerns.
