Attributes and filters
Define your own fields for your rooms – and filter by exactly those.
Zeitwart ships the basic fields – name, capacity, assignment. Everything else your organisation wants to record about a room, you define yourself. That is what attribute templates are for: you decide which fields exist, and then filter by them.
Custom fields for four models
There is exactly one template per model:
Rooms – equipment, seating, accessibility, projector, whiteboard, air conditioning
Users – department, staff number, telephone, location
Displays – model, location, inventory number
Items – serial number, purchase date, condition, cost centre
A template is a tree: groups bundle, fields carry the values. The template describes which fields exist – they are then filled per room, account or device.
Searching the way people search
Nobody looks for "room B-217". People look for a room for twelve with a projector that is step-free. That is exactly what attributes deliver: whatever you define as a field is afterwards available as a filter.
Filters can be combined, so several conditions produce a single list of matches. Anyone who needs the same combination regularly gets it as a permanent entry point through a home tile.
Not only for filtering
The same attributes appear as additional columns in list views, on the detail page of the resource, and in import and export. Anyone who maintains their inventory in Excel maintains the custom fields along with it – without development work for every new characteristic.
Yes/no, choice, free text
Fields have a type. Yes/no fields appear as ticks and suit equipment characteristics; choice lists keep the spelling clean, which is what makes filters reliable; free text remains for everything that will not fit into categories. Fields marked as internal stay with the administration and never appear for people booking.
