A booking system is rarely business-critical – until it is. When the calendar of an entire university is missing, work stops. That is why backups in Zeitwart are not something anybody has to remember.
Regular, with no action needed
The databases are backed up regularly and automatically. There is no button anybody could forget and no task that gets left over a holiday. Should a restore ever be needed, the starting point for it exists.
Hosted in Germany
The backups sit in the same infrastructure as the installation itself – in a data centre in Germany and therefore under the GDPR. No copy appears in another jurisdiction simply because it was backed up.
Complemented by deletion periods
Backup and deletion belong together. Deletion periods can be set for bookings and events; a nightly run then removes everything older than that. The stock does not grow without limit, and retention matches your organisation's deletion policy.
That deletion is final. Anyone shortening a period should think it through carefully – reducing it from 60 to 12 months deletes four years of stock the following night. An empty field deliberately means "retain indefinitely".
