Dependent resource

In a room that contains bookable PC workstations, special booking conditions apply: the room is occupied as soon as at least one PC is in use. If the room is booked, all PCs also become unavailable. The room and the resources within it are dependently bookable.

To achieve this, a dependency has to be defined: the individual workstations have the room as their parent resource, and the room has the PC workstations as its dependent resources.

When a booking is now made in the room, Zeitwart automatically creates bookings in all dependent PC workstations so that they are automatically blocked. These bookings depend on the room booking and cannot be deleted or edited individually. If the booking in the room is deleted or edited, the dependent bookings at the workstations are automatically deleted or edited as well.

Conversely, a booking at a PC workstation creates a dependent booking in the room, which shows the occupancy there and prevents the room from being booked.

In this example, booking the workstation automatically prevents the makerspace from being booked; it switches from green to grey. The other workstations remain bookable.
